John Franklyn Holliss died peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, May 27, 2016. He was born on February 23, 1947 in Brampton, Ontario to Norman and Hazel Holliss. John spent nearly 50 years working in the car business in southern Ontario, where he built many lifelong friendships. He will forever be remembered for his ability to make people smile through his kind nature, or to laugh at his never-ending supply of jokes. John was predeceased by his parents and wife Marianne. He is survived by his children David, Samuel (Tracy), Jonas (Kerryanne), and Daniela; grandchildren Helena, Ryan, Hayden, Nolan, Brayden, and Matthew; sister Elizabeth (Norman); and niece Catherine (Patrick). A visitation service will be held at Ward Funeral Home (Brampton Chapel) on June 1, 2016 from 4-9 pm. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the ICU at Brampton Civic Hospital who provided comfort to John during his last few days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in John’s name to the Brampton Civic Hospital (www.oslerfoundation.org).
