We are saddened to announce the passing of John Gregory McNevin at Toronto Western Hospital on November 12, 2022, at the age of 60.
John is predeceased by his Father George Henry McNevin and his Mother Jean Marie McNevin. A loving brother, he is survived by his Sister Charmaine Marie Parsons (Chad) and Brother George Brian McNevin (Nicole).
John was born in Saint John New Brunswick on January 9th 1962. His education began at Parkfield Public School and he later attend Kingsmill Secondary School in Etobicoke. John went on to work at Salga in Etobicoke as a Materials Handler.
John loved music, especially Neil Young. He was known for his generosity and kindness towards family and those he cared about. He was especially fond of his pet birds, dog and exotic fish he took into his care over the years. He was also known to have a green thumb as he loved and cared for his plants.
John's kindness was everlasting. He was a people person who valued the people he cared about and most of all, he loved his family. He would often prioritize time to reach out to loved ones to check-in, catch up and share stories about current events or just call to let to let you know he was thinking about you. John loved all sports and was a huge hockey fan who enjoyed Saturday night Leaf games.
A service will be held at Ward's Funeral Home on 2035 Weston Rd., Toronto, Ontario on Friday November 25 2022 at 10:30 am. If desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CAMH and/or the Canadian Cancer Society.
The McNevin family would also like to thank the many doctors, nurses and support staff for their fantastic professionalism and ongoing compassion. We also sincerely thank everyone for their condolences and words of support.
John will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother, sister, Aunt Fran, cousins and many other relatives.
