An avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, Dave was at peace on the banks of a river with a fly rod in hand. His love and passion for the outdoors was rooted in him at an early age, growing up in St. John’s Newfoundland.
Dave was a loving husband of 43 years to Barbara (Tricco) and a beloved father to Jennifer (Rob, Alyssa & Dylan), David, and Jillian (Dave). Behind his reserved demeanor was a true gentleman, with a caring and kindhearted soul. Dave’s bright blue eyes and charismatic smile captured your heart. He was the salt of the earth.
Dave had a strong sense of family, and leaves behind his sister Rose Mary, brothers Randy (Brenda), John and Mike, and his many extended family and friends in Newfoundland, Ontario, Alberta and B.C to mourn him.
Dave passed peacefully away at Bethell Hospice on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at age 68, after a short battle with cancer.
Family and Friends will be received Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St South Brampton, on Wednesday, January 29th & Thursday, January 30th from 5:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday January 31st at 10:00 am at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 66A Main Street South, Brampton .
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
