Cardle, John
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of John Cardle. John passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23rd, 2010 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by Jo, his devoted wife of 52 years and his adoring daughters Catriona and her husband Paul King, Fiona and her husband Angelo Bitondo and Aileen. His memory will be cherished always by his loving grandchildren, Chiara, Andrew and Breanna Bitondo. He is survived also by his sister Grace, “at home” in Glasgow, Scotland. A veteran of WWII, John was a proud member of The Royal Highland Regiment-The Black Watch. His family wishes to thank the MacKenzie Branch 414 of the Royal Canadian Legion for their continuous friendship, Shirley Chance of Bayshore Home Health, Martha Tripicio of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Etobicoke Services for Seniors- the day program at the northern location, and Dr. Sandy Buchman of the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at Mount Sinai Hospital. Thank you as well to the many family and friends whose kindness provided great emotional support. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (Just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Thursday 2-5, 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 27th, 2010 at 10 a.m. from St. Roch’s Church (2889 Islington Ave.). Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Donations to the Etobicoke Services for Seniors would be greatly appreciated by the family.
