John Butterly

On Wednesday, July 10 2013, Sean (John) Butterly passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital in the presence and love of his family. Sean will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife Margaret, his daughter Linda and her husband Grant, his daughter Jennifer and her husband Mike, his grandchildren Madeline, Gavin and Gerred, his god daughter Sharon and her husband Ken and by the many friends and family whom he touched with his graceful spirit and love.
Sean is a rare gem, and all of us are better people for knowing him. He taught us all the meaning of unconditional love, patience, virtue, kindness, faith and the power of the human spirit. His journey with prostate cancer brought many friendships and opportunities which he embraced with all of his heart and he continued to be hopeful and thankful for this until he reached this last “bump in the road”. Many thanks and much love for the wonderful care that he received at Roswell Park Cancer Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto General Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Robert Bristow who provided the highest and most compassionate care for 13 years- we are honoured to have been in your care. To Dr. Sridar and her team, thank you for doing all that you could for dad over the past few years. To the staff at the Toronto General Emergency and General Surgery Departments, thank you for the care and dignity that you gave to him in his final moments of life and as he passed. We will forever be in debt to you all.
