John Boissinot

Husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, teacher, mentor, life long learner, musician, lover of outdoor adventure, and big fan of Wendy’s frosty’s!

John passed peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at age 81. John was devoted to his family, a loving husband to Anne, wonderful father to Tim (Suzanne) and Julianne (Paul). Cherished grandpa of Daniel, Alexis, Mark and David.

John was born in Deshcambault, Quebec, raised in Sudbury and Larder Lake, Ontario. Son of Eugene and Diana Boissinot, and the oldest of four children he was a brother to Peter, Elaine and Lise (deceased).

John worked hard at earning his B.A and M.Ed. During his career he was a Vice Principal with the Etobicoke Board of Education, taught at OISE, and was also a night school Principal. He retired from teaching in June 2000. His students considered him an excellent listener; an encourager, trustworthy and a man who always wanted to see his students shine.

John will be missed and remembered with fondness as a man was an avid Bruce Trail hiker, deep thinker, Probus member. He loved to play instruments including the organ, accordion, auto harp, guitar and piano. He was a humble man, overflowing with patience and kindness for others and a man who always delighted in life’s simple pleasures. He was also the best Easter egg hider ever!

Special thank you to Phil and Lee Neely whose love and support have blessed our family. Dr. Graham for his kindness and home visits and so many friends who have encouraged us along the way.

Friends and family will be received at Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” 52 Main Street South, Brampton on Monday, July 25 from 6:00-9:00pm. A celebration of John’s life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church in Brampton on Tuesday, July 26 at 11:00am with a reception to follow.

So thankful that because of Christ we can say, “It Is Well With My Soul.”

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul’s United Church Ministry for the Neighbourhood or The Bruce Trail Conservancy.
