Joao Resendes

It is with sad hearts that the Resendes family announces the passing of João Maria Resendes on September 24, 2023 at the age of 73 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Arminda Travassos Resendes for 49 years. Proud father to Diana (Roy) and Sandy (Maurizio). Devoted grandfather to Sophia, Arianna, Gabriella and Veronica.

He was a kind man with quiet strength, who loved his family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature and his love of gardening and could always be found working in his backyard. He was a proud Canadian but he always kept his beloved Sao Miguel close to his heart.

His calm, happy demeanor and his loving soul will be dearly missed. We will carry him forever in our hearts. His spirit and legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. S., Brampton, on Wednesday September 27th from 6pm to 9pm and Thursday September 28th from 3pm to 9pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 101 Malta Ave., Brampton on Friday September 29th at 9:00am.

Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, ON., L5T-1N4.

Memorial donations may be made in honour of Joao Maria Resendes to the Canadian Cancer Society.
