(nee Morris)
April 19, 1930
January 12, 2011
Joan passed away at Parkview Home, Stouffville, in her 81st year after 8 years of enduring the progressive burden of Alzheimers. The beloved wife for 58 years and best friend of Edwin F. (Ted) Ault, much loved mother of daughters Nancy (Wayne Feasby), Dianne, and Kathleen (Don Gillespie), son David and predeceased infant daughter Brenda. Adoring Nana to grandchildren Lara Feasby, Robert and Stephen Purdy, and Alexander and Carolyn Gillespie. Dear sister of William (Joanne) and nephew Watson Morris. Daughter of the late James and Anne (Elliot) Morris.
Joan was a skilled vocalist and a valued member of all the church choirs she belonged to over a span of 60 years. She was an outstanding teacher of junior school children with the former North York Board of Education, a career she willingly gave up to be a loving and caring full-time mother and homemaker to her family.
The family is most appreciative of the care and concern shown by Dr.’s Sampson and Patterson and the staff of Parkview Home during Joan’s 2 ½ year residence there.
A Service of Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at Christ Church Anglican (905-640-1461) 254 Sunset Blvd., Stouffville, L4A 3R1 (1 Block south of Main Street, and east of Ninth Line) at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 20th 2011, with visiting from 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Christ Church Memorial Fund or to Parkview Home, 123 Weldon Road, Stouffville L4A 0G8.
Arrangements entrusted to the Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel”, (416-241-4618).
