Jerry Kozikowski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Kozikowski in what would have been his 86th year.

Affectionately known as The Kid, Jerry was easy to please.
He was an avid church goer and volunteered with the Knights of Columbus. He helped organize donations for the sisters of St. Bernards and got them Jays tickets so they could go to the games.

Jerry was the only person I ever met who had 3 heart surgeries, diabetes, spinal stenosis, amongst other issues and still managed to go on deliveries every day! Not to mention sitting patiently waiting for those deliveries. He was feisty, but we loved him for it! I can still hear him saying "Come on Gina, let's go. It's getting late. I can't park downtown after 3 o'clock" .

Jerry loved music. He was a true rocker, still going to concerts and telling stories of concerts he had gone to in the past. He also had an interesting life with his many stories about his days of partying, driving his friend's car to Florida without the friend knowing, and he loved the racetrack and the casino. He and his friends even chartered a private jet to go to Belmont Park to catch a couple of races! He spent Sundays watching football all day and coming into the office on Monday with his opinion on how the games should have gone.
He loved going to Blue Jays games and the occasional hockey game. But card games were his favourite. Lol.
Jerry was elated when Erv took him to The Breeders Cup in 1996. I remember how happy he was when he saw the limo arrive to pick them up. Jerry wore a white suit jacket with a red pocket square. He knew how to make an impression.

Jerry loved his Tim Horton's coffee, his perogies and schnitzel from Cafe Polonez and his burnt potatoes from Wimpys Diner. He always enjoyed visiting his cousin for a traditional holiday meal.

Jerry always said that when he died, he wanted someone to play Trooper's song "We're here for a Good Time". We will play it for him at his service , but we also ask that when you have a moment, play the song as you pay tribute to him in your own way. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Jerry's memory would be much appreciated.
