Herbert, Jeremy Thomas “RUSTY”
Dec. 30, 1976 – June 3, 2010
Loving son to John and Jerelin friend and loving brother to Jason. Special nephew to Frank and Kay Herbert, Victor and Christine Herbert, Dennis and Carol Woods, Milly and Bart Beaucock. Fun loving cousin to Michael, Zakary, Noel and Mikey Herbert, Leanne Sneath and Dennis Woods, Miles, Casey and Russell Williams. Loving grandson to the departed Frank and Rose Herbert, Jerome and Jewel Rapelje and Anita Voice.
At the age of only 33, the dreadful disease, schizophrenia took the life of one God’s most beautiful, our son Rusty after his courageous battle of fifteen years to overcome the torment. Rusty’s young life is a complement of awards, trophies, accolades, accomplishments, a complete education and a very satisfying career with the good people at Mevotech. He believes in his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and worships Him in his special way.
We cannot measure Rusty’s two greatest achievements in life but we can use that to measure the quality of his character. His multitude of friends over the years is testament to his amiable personality. He evinces sincere care, concern, and passion for his fellow man. Loyal and trustworthy are part of his makeup, just like his amber hair color is.
And Rusty knows how to love. In spite of a mortal disease that typically limits or restricts clear mental understanding, he seems to innately know that love is the answer. Even at his tender age he comprehends the importance of love in our world today to overcome the hate, anger and revenge that otherwise determines our destiny. Now he has his peace in a place where love is not only the prerequisite for admission but where love is omnipresent.
It’s a pleasure to have you in our lives Rusty.
For now there are faith, hope and love. But of these three, the greatest is love.
