December 4, 1958 – February 24, 2025

It is with heartbreak and sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffery (Jeff) Roy who passed away at Humber River Hospital on February 24th at the age of 66 surrounded by his loving family. Jeffery is predeceased by his in-laws Louis and Doris Pomanti. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary Pomanti, his children Christopher Pomanti-Roy (Vanessa Banya), step son Nicolas Pomanti, his sisters-in-laws Christine Sproviero (Joe Sproviero) and Bernice Pomanti (John Allen), brother-in-law Lou Pomanti (Kim Nelles) and niece Robyn Mays (Warren Quinn). Jeffery will be greatly missed by his loving nieces and nephews; Josh and Madison Mays-Quinn, Sam and Cara Pomanti.

Jeff won the battle with lung cancer in 2020 however, his struggles with COPD in the past 2 years were valiant and showed the strength of 10 men until the very end.

As a Junior B Hockey player in his younger years, Jeff shared his passion of sports with his boys through coaching both baseball and hockey, with special mention to the amazing group of hockey players and parents of the Etobicoke Bulldogs, Toronto Wolverines and Rexdale Renegades.

Jeff’s other passion was his beloved ‘puppy’ Rocky who was his shining light. His first stop would have been at the Rainbow Bridge. Together in cottage country with a Tim Hortons in his hand they now walk off into the sunlight together.

Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, Weston Chapel, located at 2035 Weston Road on Wednesday, March 5th from 12:00pm until the Memorial Service at 1:00pm. Following the funeral service, all guests will be welcome to share in some light refreshments in the Reception Room on the second floor of the Weston Chapel.
