Jean Lukasik (nee Slinger)
Jean passed away peacefully Wednesday August 2, 2023 in her 96th year at the Village of Humber Heights. She was born in Weston-Mount Dennis when it was a small town apart from Toronto. She worked at Kodak where she met and married Bernard, “Bunky” Lukasik. They lived together in Alderwood for 49 years before his death and she continued to live in the same house for 71 years. Jean volunteered with the Cancer Society for over 20 years. She enjoyed bowling and in later years, she was an active participant at Franklin Horner Community Centre where she enjoyed line dancing and was involved in many activities. She also loved bird watching and was constantly solving crossword puzzles. Jean loved her car and was proud to drive up until she was 94, sitting by the lake with her Tim Horton’s coffee, donut and grilled cheese.
Predeceased by her parents, William and Edith May Slinger, brother Stan, (+Meryl), nephew Glenn and brother-in-law Roger (+Winnie). She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Dave, (Doreen), Suzanne (North Bay), and Joe (Dale) (Alberta), grandchildren; Jeffery (Christina), Jennifer, Sarah (Vancouver), Andrew (Andrea) (North Bay), great grandchildren; Madison, Abigail, Cameron, Jackson, Ellie & Reed, (North Bay) her nephews, Reg (Brenda) (Alberta), William, Jack (Linda), niece, Jane (Clint), and other family members and neighbours.

Family, friends and neighbours are welcome to the graveside service at Sanctuary Park Cemetery in Weston at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August, 5th, 2023.
