Jean Kohn

JEAN HELEN KOHN (nee HOUSTON) Passed away suddenly on January 2, 2017 at her home in Toronto at the age of 77. Jean treasured the time spent with her family over the Christmas holidays. She had a curious nature, an affinity for the arts and was a voracious reader. She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Elisabeth Kohn. Predeceased by her father and mother Hunter and Mary Houston, her sister Anne and her nieces Lynn and Lesley. She was loved by many: her sister and brother-in-law Linda and Steve Payne, nieces Debbie (Frank), Dorothy (Gerry), Sharon (Peter), Kim (Shad) and nephew Michael (Lisa) and her many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest treasure.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Friday, January 6 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m.

For the past 45 years, Jean made the Weston neighbourhood her home and shared in the vision of Artscape Weston Hub as a place to celebrate and reflect the community’s histories, cultures and traditions. Jean was an avid fan of the arts and passed along her affinity for the arts to her daughter Liz who has been a champion for the Artscape Weston Hub for the past few years. Donation cheques may be issued to the Toronto Artscape Foundation; please indicate your dedication on the memo line of the cheque.
