A Life Well Lived
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of our beloved wife and mother.
Janny Bovenberg (nee: De Smit) passed away peacefully on the afternoon of May 1, 2020 at Brampton Civic Hospital...William Osler.
She will be incredibly missed by her husband of 69 years, Ary Lans Bovenberg.
Janny is the cheerful, generous, and fun mother of:
Connie and (Tony) Dryfhout, Frank and (Joanne) Bovenberg, Betty and (Simon) Roeleveld,
Rita and (Wes) DeGier, Ingrid and (Rob) Van Staalduinen
Mom was so fond of children and especially her 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Having the little ones come for a visit made her day!
Janny was born in Monster, Zuid Holland, the Netherlands. In 1951 she became the devoted wife of Ary Lans Bovenberg. The newly married couple emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Mom was very hospitable and over the years many friends were welcomed into their home as well as many relatives from the Netherlands. Janny cheerfully worked alongside her husband in the greenhouses for many years. One could easily find her because you could hear her singing.
After thirteen years in Canada, Janny and Ary made their first trip back to the Netherlands.
That was the beginning of many wonderful trips together. They loved these trips so much they surprised their children with three trips with all twelve. What beautiful memories are shared from those times together.
The greatest gift Janny gave to her family is her ability to be content. She was truly happy and never asked for much. She was very compassionate and caring. If someone she knew was sick she would be ready with a pot of soup and a plant. She was ready to bring cheer and encouragement in any situation. Her kindness is appreciated by everyone who knows her.
We miss our wife and mother. We thank God for her love. We are happy that she is welcomed into the heavenly home prepared for her.
“I said to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.’ ” Psalm 16:2
Thank you Jesus for welcoming Janny home.
Janny will be buried at the Meadowvale Cemetery in a private family ceremony. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date
