Sadly the family announces the passing of Jim on Monday, August 24, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at the age of 56. Loving husband of Eileen for 23 years. Much loved dad of Jimmy, Alanna, Stephanie and David. Cherished son of James and the late Rose (nee Schifferns) and son-in-law of Bridie Dowd. Survived by his siblings Kathy Eberle, Ed Hilchey, Susan Letourneau, Dave Hilchey, Terry Michell, Rob Hilchey, Jay Hilchey, Donny Cater, John Carter and Robin Carter. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Special thank you to the doctors and staff at O.T.M.H., especially Dr. Naveen Arya, for their compassion and care. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated.
