Jakob Veenstra passed away March 19, 2012 at Malton Village Long Term Care Home at age 92. He was predeceased by Nettie, his wife of 59 years and will be missed by his family. He was proud of all of his children, including the in-laws: Betty and Al Martens, Claire Veenstra and Donald Johnston and John and Edith Veenstra. His grandchildren were a special joy to him: Alison and Ryan Webb, Kevin and Rachel Martens, Robert Martens, Emily and Gabrielle Veenstra, as was his great-grandchild, Tessa Martens. He will be remembered for his meticulous woodworking and painting skills, his perseverance, his sharp mind, and his faithful care for Nettie in her last years. We are sincerely grateful to the staff at Malton Village, especially the Avro Unit, for their kind, personal and professional care for Dad in his last months.
