It is with deep sorrow our family mourn Jack’s passing on Friday September 17, 2010 at Brampton Civic Hospital in his 87th year. Jack dearly loved husband of Dorothy (Dodie) for 64 years. Proud father of Scott (Marty), Craig (Dorothy Joan) and Brad (Wendy). Loving grandfather of Tyler (Lydia), Garrett, Adrienne, Heather, Kevin, Reid and Rachel. Brother of Helen Cawood (Herb Ennis) Georgetown and Doug (Anne) of Thornton.
Jack started his insurance career at the Canadian Indemnity Insurance Company. Moving to Brampton in 1956 he became a partner in the McLeod Insurance Agency then in 1960 he established Jack Goodison Insurance Agency his own company now known as Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Ltd. Jack enjoyed being involved in the local Brampton community he was a charter member of the Brampton YMCA, he served as chair of the Red Feather Campaign (The United Way), Jack was a proud member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario/Canada. Jack served as a Provincial Returning Officer for Ontario Elections in the 1980’s. Jack was an honorary member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario and he was a charter member of Probus.
Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton on Tuesday from 2–4 and 7-9pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am from St. Paul’s United Church , 30 Main Street South, Brampton
Interment to follow at Meadowvale Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jack’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
