Isabel Alexandra Richardson (nee Stevenson)
November 19, 1929 – October 25, 2016
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Isabel on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Etobicoke General Hospital. She was surrounded with love by her husband and children.
For 63 years Isabel has been the much loved wife of Morris. She is the amazing mother of Sheila, Janet, Ian (Sandra), Mark (Joanne), and Sandra. She is the proud grandmother to Alex, Daniel, Jessica, Erik, Jake and Scott.
Isabel was born November 19, 1929 to Andrew and Isa Stevenson in Hamilton. She was a proud graduate of Hamilton General Hospital Nursing School, Class 51B. Isabel met her husband Morris, married in 1953. After living in Niagara Falls for ten years, they moved their young family to Etobicoke.
While raising five children Isabel was active in many things. She was an active member of her church, serving for many years taking care of the young ones in the nursery, being part of programs for young people and volunteering on committees. Always one who loved to sing she spent many joyful years in the church choir.
Isabel had a wonderful presence in all of our lives. She was blessed with many friends and cherished time spent with her family, neighbors, nursing colleagues, bowling mates, bridge partners, theatre pals, and the people she met on her world travels. The most cherished of these times were spent with the love of her life and her children. We will all miss her so much.
Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd(north of Lawrence Ave. W) Weston, on Friday October 28 from 2- 4 p.m. and from 6- 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Westway United Church, 8 Templar Drive, Etobicoke on Saturday October 29 at 11:00am followed by a reception in the church hall.
Donations in memory of Isabel can be made to Westway United Church, or to a charity of your choice.
