Irene Kirker

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Elizabeth Kirker on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Devoted and loving wife of the late James Kirker. Eldest daughter of the late Violet and Thomas Thompson. Dear sister of Adelaide, the late Thomas, Helen (Leonard) and Violet. Cherished and beloved aunt to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Irene was a retired employee of the Canadian Kodak Company. Her inner strength, gentle nature and thoughtful and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her. Her beautiful smile will be fondly remembered in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at the Ward Funeral Home “Oakville Chapel,” 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Peterborough, 439 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, ON K9H 4E4 (www.hospicepeterborough.org) or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
