Ida Guatieri (nee Pasqua)

May 9, 1949 – July 31, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ida Guatieri in her 75th year. Ida passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on July 31, 2024. Born in Lattarico, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy on May 9, 1949, to the late Raffaele and Emilia Pasqua, she was one of nine siblings. She will be greatly missed by sisters Ermelinda, Anna and Antonietta, as well as by her brother Pietro. She is now reunited with her brothers Luigi, Franco, Enzo and Mario.

Ida married the love of her life, Francesco in 1967, and together they had two children Gerardo (Ira), and Roberto (Antonietta), who she loved dearly. Ida will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Giulia, Sofia, Francesco and Rachel. She shared a special bond with all her grandchildren, even giving up working as a chef to enjoy as much time with them as she could. She had a great passion for cooking and was especially good at cooking her homemade gnocchi, rice balls, and wood-oven pizza. She will be fondly remembered by her family as being kind, loving and generous. 

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Parish (100 Bainbridge Avenue, Woodbridge) on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
