Ian Morrison
April 12, 1932 – November 28, 2017
Ian Blyth Morrison, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017 at Ian Anderson House. Predeceased by his loving wife Ruby (2007) of 45 years. Beloved father of Lesley (Marcel), Keith and Neil. Dear grandpa and papa to Laura, Krista, Chloe, Kaitlin, Boston, Jessica, Victoria and Sydney. Predeceased by his brother Ross and parents Rita and Donald Morrison.
Ian was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1932. He attended the prestigious George Heriot’s School on an academic scholarship. He was an accomplished middle distance runner and played both soccer and rugby. He served in The Royal Air Force for 2 years as a radar operator.
Ian immigrated to Canada in 1954 when he was in his yearly 20’s. After living in several provinces, he made Oakville his home 38 years ago. Since retiring in 1992, after a 38 year career with Royal Bank, Ian enjoyed life to the fullest with music, golf, travel, bridge and spending time with family and friends. As a member of the Oakville Symphony since 1995, he shared his passion of music and joy of playing the violin through performances, teaching, and youth development. He was a proud member of the Oakville Golf Club and The Heriot Club of Toronto.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 1, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds St., Oakville, Ontario.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday December 2, 2017 from 1 to 4 pm at the Oakville Golf Club, 1154 Sixth Line, Oakville, Ontario.
