Ian Cameron MacLean
Born January 6, 1960, passed away quietly at home on Wednesday April 27, 2022 surrounded by his family and friends. Ian was married to the love of his life and best friend Chris (Christina) for 36 years, with a morning kiss, a kiss when they got home from work and one at bedtime. Dad to Benjamin and Molly and Brother to Craig. Ian will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law Norma Godbold (Norma Mom), Jane Godbold and Andrew Gill, nephews Adam, Ian, Daniel and Charles; Beth and Dave Cooper, nephew Ethan, James Godbold and his partner Suzie Halajian, as well as many family and friends.
Ian loved his family unconditionally. He was a gentle and loving soul with an underlying happiness. Ian was laid back and always willing to give a helping hand. Ian had a very dry sense of humour that would often leave you laughing. He was known for giving the best bear hugs and making everyone feel loved. Ian’s happy place was at the family cottage where he enjoyed fishing, ATVing and some bevvies, particularly the rye and coke kind. Ian wasn’t much of a tree climber because of his height, but he sure could fall a tree where “x” marked the spot. Ian enjoyed target shooting and ATVing with Ben, watching Molly compete with her horse Nova, his weeks of hunting for deer and moose with his hunting buddies, family Christmas’s at Chez James and Norma Mom’s baking.
Ian’s unconditional kindness, love and support left a huge impact on everyone that he met.
