CLARKSON, Ian Gordon, passed away peacefully on March 22 at Etobicoke General Hospital at the age of 86. Son of the late Bill and Gladys Clarkson, he is survived by his beloved wife Francie and by his dear children Andrew (Joanne), John, David (Nicole), and Jennifer (Mike Potvin), as well as by five grandchildren: Ella, Henry, Noah, Liam, and Cassie, and by his niece Nancy Clarkson-Loreto. He was pre-deceased by his brother Bill (Mary) and by nephews Bruce and Dean. He was educated at Upper Canada College and at the University of Toronto Trinity College, where he specialized in French and Italian. Ian was a teacher of languages with the Etobicoke and Peel Boards of Education. He was an amateur artist, focusing largely on pen and ink sketches, as well as watercolours. He also enjoyed photography. His religious drawings were widely used in weekly leaflets at St. Philip's Anglican Church. His funeral service, by invitation only due to Covid restrictions, will be held at St. Philip's Anglican Church with interment in the surrounding cemetery. Donations in Ian's memory may be made to St. Philip's Anglican Church, 31 St. Phillips Road, Toronto, M9P 2N8.
