Rogers, Howard Stanley

May 30, 1926 – March 15, 2021

In his 95th year Howie peacefully passed away with his daughter by his side. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Rogers. Loving father of Charley LaRose (nee Debi Rogers) and her partner Michael Kelley, and the late Darin Rogers. He was so proud of his grandchildren Garrett Kelley and Kate Rogers.

Born in Toronto, he first met Barb in Lethbridge, Alberta while a prisoner-of-war guardserving at the end of World War II. They married in 1947 and raised their family in Toronto. For decades Howie worked as a salesman in the wholesale florist industry, first for Russ Waters and then for Ivey’s. For 25 years after retirement they enjoyed living at thecottage home they had built in the 60’s in Oro Medonte. He loved the country life. As a handyman and carpenter, he passed to his children the ability build and repair any items they needed. An avid gardener and woodsman, he was happiest when in the country air or reading his newspaper by the wood stove.

In 2012 he joined Barb at Lakeshore Lodge where he took seriously his role as President of the Residents’ Council. We give special thanks to all of the caregivers, volunteers and administrators at Lakeshore Lodge who cared for him as family and with respect.

Due to Covid 19 there will be a private graveside service.
