HERBERT 'HERB' POUNDER Peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 after a short battle with cancer, we sadly announce the passing of Herbert Frederick Pounder in his 80th year. He leaves behind his wife Ruth of 55 years; his children Herb (Annette), Kathy (John McTighe), Carol (Andy Clarke); eight grandchildren Robert (Michelle), Steven, Tanya, Amanda, Jenna, Kenny, Tyler, Eric; three great-grandchildren Owen, Austin, Hayden; and his sister Ruth Brown. Predeceased by his son Eric. He will be sadly missed by his shih tzu Peanut, his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Herb is also fondly known as EA and Ba-ou or Shuma. Herb worked as a proud plumber for many years. He loved to be with his family. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and sense of humour. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave. W.), Weston on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 in the chapel at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
