Henry Herbert Daykin
Born and raised in British Columbia, Bert moved to Ontario in his adult years. He was an avid golfer and worked at the Canadian National Exhibition until retirement. Bert got together with his beloved Florence (better known as Nanny) in the mid-1990s and gained a new family of children, grandchildren and eventually great-grandchildren who he adored. He was a smart, thoughtful and generous man, someone who always got it done. He will be remembered for delivering Nanny to her destination on time, for making sure the food for holiday dinners was bought well in advance and for booking dentist appointments and trips for his grandchildren. He truly was an angel who asked for nothing in return and will be dearly missed. We know that he is now reunited with his Florence and the two of them are happily watching sports together.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved family and friends.
A private visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, Weston Chapel.
Cremation to follow.
