Peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 12, 2013. She was born on May 23, 1921 in the Netherlands to Winifred and Harm Prins. The family moved to the Holland Marsh, Ontario in the 1930’s. Henrietta married George Horlings on October 6, 1939. They raised three children, Harold (Hal) Horlings, Winifred Gleason, and Hendy Cosman. After George’s death in 1965, she married Joseph Chiddenton in 1974.
Henrietta was a loving, Christian woman who was an example of faith for her children, grandchildren, friends, and all who knew or cared for her. We remember her love of animals, traveling, studying her Bible, her beautiful prayers, and her artistic photography. She will be truly missed by her children and all who were lucky enough to spend time with her.
She leaves behind her three children and spouses, eight grandchildren and their spouses, and thirteen great grandchildren. Preceding her in death, was her mother and father (Winifred and Harm Prins), two loving husbands, George Horlings and Joe Chiddenton, and her brother, Herman Prins.
A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her full, rich life on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2 PM at the Holland Marsh Christian Reformed Church, 18935 Dufferin Street, Newmarket. Rev. Henk Bruinsma officiating.
