Helen Hasulo
She was an exceptional lady – strong and passionate in her Catholic faith, a leader in her church community through the Legion of Mary, fiercely devoted to her family and a loyal friend to so very many. Helen expressed her love in many ways, but especially through her wonderful cooking, and we are sure those who knew her all have their own happy memories of enjoying one of her dishes.
Heartfelt thanks to her niece, Elizabeth Mestyan, for her love and devotion in helping with Helen’s care, all the extraordinary and compassionate nurses and doctors at the oncology and palliative care departments at Brampton Civic Hospital, and to all her family and friends who have supported us in this long journey.
Visitation is on October 5, 6 to 9 pm at Ward Funeral Home Brampton. Mass will be on Oct 6, 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church and will also be livestreamed on ZOOM. Please note COVID restrictions are in place. Visit https://www.wardfuneralhomes.com/brampton-chapel to RSVP if you wish to attend the visitation or the funeral mass.
We will host a celebration of Helen’s life to take place next year, when hopefully it will be safer to come together in larger numbers.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada at https://www.llscanada.org, the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca, or the charity of your choice.

In accordance with the directives provided from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, funeral services may be held within the funeral home with 30 % capacity of visitations rooms and the onsite chapel. Funeral Services may also be held at a place of worship with the same 30% capacity mandate. To allow your extended family and friends to offer their condolences, our spacious rooms and chapels continue to allow for social distancing requirements. Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory as per the directives of the Bereavement Authority. This includes ALL staff and attendees. Masks will be provided to those guests who may not have their own. A private family interment will be taking place at the Brampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
