Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the age of 88. Proud father of Diane (Frank) and Michael. Cherished Nonno to Justin (Alyssa), Daniel (Alessandra) and Michael (Christina). Loving Bisnonno to Sophia, "la piccolina" as he called her. He will be sadly missed by his partner Alida, along with many family and friends. Last but certainly not least, his presence will be missed by his long time little canary friend "Il Canarino" aka Charlie.

Guido has now been reunited with his beloved wife Maria, whom he cherished and admired as a “one in a million” woman. Now they will spend eternity together in paradise, watching over the family they created together.

Growing up on the family farm in a small town in Italy called Morsano al Tagliamento "Morsan", he developed a passion and respect for animals, especially dogs and horses. A simple, meticulous and hard-working man, he enjoyed his lifelong career as a carpenter and artisan. He loved working with his hands and he was exceptional at it.

For Guido, spring was a time of renewal, "zappare il giardino" to prepare the vegetable garden for seeding, tasting last year's wine to ensure it's aging properly and making preparations for the hard work in the months ahead. Throughout the summer, Guido could be found in his vegetable garden delicately tending to the fruits of his labour and harvesting his vegetables only at the perfect time. Fall was the time for making tomato sauce and wine, which he won an award for at Famee Furlane. He was also very skilled at salumi making and aging friulano cheese. Everyday, he would visit his self designed and built cantina to ensure the temperature and humidity were just right. Winter was the time to enjoy and savour the outcomes of his hard work with his loving family around the table, as good food and great company were something he held close to his heart.

Guido loved his soccer with a passion, especially his beloved AC Milan and the Italian National Football Team. Formula One and the roar of a Ferrari could be heard in the house. However, when he wasn't satisfied with their performance, a few porco canes could also be heard!

His presence will be sorely missed...

Forever loved and always remembered...

Ciao pap...fino a quando non incontreremo di nuovo...
