GORDON SIMMONS Following a lengthy illness on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Joann. Loving father of Patricia (Tony Manna), Marc (Maria), Kirsten (David Loop) and the late Derek. Dear grandfather of Lindsay, Shannon, Julian and Dean. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Joan, brother Philip and his aunt Dorothy and their families, all of England. Gordon was born in England where he proudly served in the British Airborne Parachute Regiment and before his retirement he was a member of the Toronto Police Service for over 27 years. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in the Ward Chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
