MACKINNON, Gordon Ainslie - March 9, 1930 - September 14, 2009 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and beloved husband of the late Ruth Ellen (Helen) nee Gardiner. At the age of 79 years, Gordon passed away peacefully with loving family members at his bedside on September 14, 2009 at the Credit Valley Hospital. Born in East Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton Island, son of late Marjorie (MacKinnon) Collins. Lived in Nova Scotia until 1947. Moved to Ontario and was married to Ruth Ellen (Helen) Gardiner in 1955. Gordon will be sadly missed by his two daughters Heather Ann (Craig MacDonald), Katherine Ellen (Jim Marchese), brother John Collins of Greenwood, N.S., brothers Archie and Clifford Collins of East Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton Island, six grandchildren Dawn-Ellen, Darrin, Sarah, Jesse, Lindsey and Arran, and will also be sadly missed by dear friends Beth and Estelle. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (52 Main St. S., Brampton) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held on Thursday at the Ward Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Meadowvale Cemetery, Brampton. As expressions of sympathy donations to Southbrook Lodge would be appreciated. A book of memories may be signed at www.wardfuneralhome.com
