Gloria Ciampini

Gloria Marie Ciampini ( nee D’Amato)

Passed peacefully in Collingwood, ON with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Born in Toronto on February 25,1935 to Ida and Nick D’ Amato, Gloria is the second eldest of 6 siblings. In her early career, Gloria worked as a bank teller for the Bank of Montreal. She married her husband, Joseph in 1958. Once married, she stayed at home to be a devoted wife, mother and homemaker; she cared for and raised their two children, Jo-Ann and Joseph “Joey”.

In 1975, following the passing of her beloved husband Joseph, Gloria returned to the family business, Maple Leaf Building Supplies, to run the daily operations as the owner of the company.

In 1982, Gloria welcomed the addition of Rita, when Joey introduced her to the family and married her in 1984.

Gloria and long time companion Peter O'Connor supported each other in many ways. Card playing was their favorite past time.

Gloria will be sadly missed by her God children, Lisa Park, Anthony Tosello, and Lucy Montecalvo .

Gloria will always be fondly remembered for being a “social butterfly”. Wherever she ventured out, she always managed to meet new people and to make new friends. Her outgoing personality and infectious smile just made her so loveable. She treasured the long standing friendships she did make, and cherished that time spent together especially if she was playing Bingo.

Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday June 13, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at the Ward Funeral Home Chapel (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge), Friday June 14, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. 

If desired, memorial donations may be made in Gloria's memory to the Lung Association and Campbell House Hospice.
