August 11, 1971 – May 12, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Glen. The beloved son of the late William and Margaret Harper, cherished brother to Scott (Brandi) and Corinne (Mitchell) , admired uncle to Davis, Kate, Connor and Harper and caring father to his most cherished gift that he shared with Tracy, his daughter Rachel, Glen will be missed by the many friends, cousins, and extended family members who were able to share their life with him.
Glen grew up in Etobicoke for almost all his childhood, teenage and adult life. He had many happy years growing up and surrounded by special families on Wimbleton Road as well as the many other families who were met through sports and his family’s real estate business. He spent summers camping and cottaging in Ontario or swimming and beaching at his true happy place, New Smyrna Beach Florida. He played competitive hockey and soccer, coached sports, skied like a rock star, swung a softball bat with ease and poise and was best known for his surgical use of his paint brush. The paint brush that would go onto to shape most of Glen’s professional and entrepreneurial career and allowed him to meet many more families and spend precious bonding time with his retired father.
He was a gentle soul that enjoyed having a circle of friends throughout life that were loyal and true, who never abandoned him, no matter how ridiculous the debate topic was. He will be remembered by all for his little smirk and smile, that twinkle in his eye when he laughed and the ability to talk to anyone on the obscurest topics for hours, no matter what time day or night. He will be missed for his patience, his love and ability to talk to people, his entrepreneurial spirit in business, his determination to never ever give up, no matter how much life threw at him, and his endless love for, and profound pride of Rachel.
There will be a small private visitation for family with a celebration of Glen’s life to follow at a not-too-distant later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to CAMH would be greatly appreciated.
