It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Giuseppe De Rose, who is also known to many as Joe or Peppino. He passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022, in his 92nd year.
Giuseppe was born in Rende, Italy on December 16, 1930 as the firstborn child of Carmela Maria & Luigi De Rose. Beloved husband of 50 years to Rosa. Cherished father of Luigi (Kali) & Claudio (Grigoria). Proud grandfather of Christian, Adam, Matteo & Sabrina. He was predeceased by his beloved sister Valeria (late Vittorio). He is survived by his dear sister Egidia (late Mario), brother Franco (late Linda) & sister Elena (Pasquale). He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends throughout Canada, the US and Italy.
A family man, who was always smiling, he treasured his children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. He had a vivacious personality and always lit up when his grandchildren were nearby.
His garden was tended with such love and care that he took great pride in sharing garden produce with his family. A painter by trade, he would often be found building or fixing something around the home. He will be remembered for his excellent homemade wines, delicious sopressata, and sweet tomato sauce.
Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church (100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge) Friday, October 14, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery (5830 Bathurst St., Toronto). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or Etobicoke General Hospital.
