Giuseppe Caravaggio

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppe Caravaggio on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the age of 91. Beloved husband to Rosita for 57 years of marriage. Loving father of Mariassunta (Anthony) and Andria (Enzo) and reunited with his late children Camillo and Paolo. Cherished "Scioscio" to Daniel, Alessia, Julia, Luca, Isabella and Massimo. Dear brother to Rosinella and brother-in-law to Michele and Teresa.
Giuseppe was a very devoted and hard working family man. He loved spending time with family and friends; especially his grandchildren whom he always had cookies for - as long as he could give them! Perhaps considered the "strong and silent" type, to those around him he was a true comedian. Often donning the most infectious smile you could ever see, he loved to laugh - even if it was at his own jokes.
Giuseppe also enjoyed the quieter moments spent at the nearby park or watching the showcase showdown on The Price Is Right. Always a proud and noble person, he always believed in re-paying any favor done for him and always insisted on signing birthday and Christmas cards himself. Having his beloved Rosita sign for him was not going to cut it!
Over the years, the devastating loss of his two sons Camillo and Paolo weighed heavy on his heart, but he always tried to maintain his positive outlook and easy going demeanor, even in the face of grief.
Giuseppe's charismatic smile and laughter will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by his many family and friends. Visitation will take place at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Roch's Church (2889 Islington Avenue, North York) on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sick Kids Foundation (Hospital For Sick Children) would be appreciated.
