It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Giovanni "John" Di Donato.

Loving husband to Natalie for 62 years. Cherished father to Ada (Paul) and Nadia (Frank). Beloved Nonno to Armando, Christian, Joseph, and Carmelo. Reunited in heaven with his parents Francesco and Angela, and brothers Santino and Mario. Survived by his brother, Valentino and remembered dearly by all his nieces and nephews.

Giovanni will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

John immigrated to Canada in 1958 from Vicalvi, Italy after having completed his military service. He met his loving wife and married in 1963. John and Natalie raised two daughters. John loved spending time with his friends and family and especially his grandchildren. Always a generous and charitable man, he believed in helping the homeless and those less fortunate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society and The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
