Gianna Turchet

Grateful she was our mom, grandmother, and friend!

It is with immense sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Gianna (Joan)
Turchet on November 15, 2023 in Toronto. Born on March 9, 1937 in Palse (PN), she
was the loving eighth child of the late Domenico and Elisabetta Pup. Gianna was a very
loving wife for 68 years to Italo, a wonderful, caring mom to Vivian (Michael) and David.
An adoring Nonna to Steven and Richard, a cherished friend and beloved hairdresser to
many!

Courageously, in 1956, as a newlywed (proxy), Gianna left her tiny hometown to reunite
with Italo. She never regretted her decision. She loved her new home and fondly
praised her pleasure in the many friendships she made over the years!

A graveside funeral will be held on November 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. @ St. Philips
Anglican Churchyard Cemetery (31 St. Philips Rd., Toronto, M9P 2N7).

Gianna “loved” her coffee and sweets. Following the service, please join us in sweetly
remembering and toasting her with her beloved coffee and pastries in the Church Hall.

In her loving memory, in lieu of flowers, please reach out and/or perform an act of
kindness to someone in need. Sincerely, she would be thrilled and honoured!
