Giacoma Bruscia (nee Garaci) was born into a large family in Villa Rosa, Sicily on April 2, 1940. To be closer to siblings, Giacoma emigrated to Canada in 1969 with her mother Grazia (her father Michele had passed away years earlier). She quickly settled into a happy life in Toronto. She met her future husband Bartolomeo in the early 1970’s and the two were married in 1972 and had a son Domenic.
Giacoma lived in the same home all her married life. She devoted herself to taking care of her family while also working until her retirement.
A kind and gentle person with a great laugh, Giacoma was predeceased by her husband, her parents, brothers Salvatore, Giuseppe (and wife Rosa), and Luigi, sisters Rosa (and husband Cateno), Silvana (and husband Carmen), and Gina.
She will be missed by her son, Domenic, her brothers Angelo (and wife Francisca) and Calogero (and wife Caterina), her sisters Maria (d. husband Pasquale) and Lucia (d. husband Salvatore), and her many nieces and nephews.
