Giacinta ‘Gina’ D'Oppido, age 78, died peacefully on February 11, 2023 at Weston Terrace Nursing Home, in Toronto, Ontario. She was born in Matera, Italy on August 27, 1944. Giacinta met the love of her life, ‘Steve’ D’Oppido in her hometown of Matera, Italy and they married on July 15, 1973. Soon after they immigrated to Canada and gave birth to twin boys, Francesco Paolo and Angelo.

She attended Ossington Pentecostal Church with her family and her faith in God was a central part of her life. She had a passion for embroidery and sewing. Giacinta had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humour and she will be remembered for her joyous spirit.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Eustachio ‘Steve’ D’Oppido. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Francesco Paolo and Angelo with his wife Rosemary and their children Delana and Ethan, as well as her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff of Weston Terrace Nursing Home for their care and compassion during her stay there.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Ward Funeral Home located at 2035 Weston Road, Toronto, Ontario, M9N 1X7.

The funeral will be held at Ossington Pentecostal Church on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00am located at 686 Ossington Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M6G 3T7.
