SCHIEVINK, Gerrit Bart 'Gary' - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerrit (Gary) on Saturday, January 30, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Anna for almost 60 years. Dear father of Debbie (Doug), Kim (Jim), Nancy and Anne-Marie (Colin). Loving grandfather of Chris, Michael, Jennifer, Jared, Rory, Josh and Tanner. Great-grandfather of Nathan. Gary is survived by his sister Els in the Netherlands. Gary retired from C.B.C. after 35 years of service. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave. W.), Weston on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Albion Gardens Presbyterian Church, 80 Thistledown Blvd., Rexdale.
