Gerard Joseph McCauley, March 28, 1941

With very heavy and saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Gerard Joseph McCauley on Thursday November 7, 2024 in his 83rd year. After many years of heart health issues following his initial heart attack at 38 years of age, he succumbed to late stage heart failure. Gerard was surrounded by his family, lifted in prayer, and comforted by the hymns of our faith. In his final moments God granted him the gift of peace, and his family the profound presence of Our Lord.

Gerard is survived by the love of his life, Marge (Marjorie Brennan) (59 years) and loving, adoring Dad to his four daughters, Jackie, Janet, Jillian Burnside (Dean) and Jennifer. He will be greatly missed by his three precious grandchildren, Meghan, Connor and Bridgid Young. He is survived by his remaining brother James McCauley (Evelyn) from Florida. He is predeceased by his parents Jack and Ursula McCauley of Marysville, siblings Bill McCauley (Mary), Betty Hurley (Ben), Marjorie Clarke (Mel), Kay Hamilton (Bob), Dorothy Mulroney (Gene) and Mary Agnes Masterson (Gerry). Gerard will be fondly remembered by his many nephews and nieces.

Gerard was a humble, kind, compassionate and wise man of very deep faith who was always thinking of others and striving to live a virtuous life. His legacy of love, kindness and unwavering faith touched so many. Gerard and Marge have been pillars of love and dedication within the Worldwide Marriage Encounter movement since 1975 and their shared faith provided them with peace, joy, hope and direction in life.
