WELTON, George LeRoy.
Peacefully on March 6th, in his 74th year. (Predeceased by his beloved Cindy in March 2021) George was born on January 31, 1949 and raised in Springhill, Nova Scotia before moving to Toronto in his teens.
Fondly remembered by his ‘brother’ (brother-in-law) Howard Thomas (Laura), nephews Christopher (Penny), Alex (Ashley), Jim Armstrong and his great nieces and nephews. George had a very special connection and love for his Nova Scotia family, Aunt Fran, Uncle Don and cousin James.
A passionate lover of golf, cards, billiards and cribbage, George loved to meet new people and share life experiences. He and Cindy travelled extensively during their almost 50 years of marriage, with Aruba being their happy place. Never a complainer and always good natured, George was a happy guy, great host and always engaging.
George and Cindy retired to Tilllsonburg in 2015, where they made many new friends at Baldwin Place. Their new life made for countless memories and enduring friendships.
The family wishes to acknowledge the many nurses and physicians who cared for George over the past year, including Westpark LTC, Tilllsonburg District Memorial Hospital, University Hospital (London) and St. Joseph’s (Toronto).
Relieved of his suffering and resting in eternal peace, George is reunited with the love of his life. There is no Parkinsons in heaven and the fairways are all straight.
Friends and family are invited to attend at a Celebration of Life at 11am, March 16th, 2022 at the Weston Golf & Country Club, 50 St. Phillips Rd., Etobicoke. Donations can be made to Parkinson’s Canada at
