George Manner Mauchner
March 5, 1939 - June 9, 2022

With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of George Manner Mauchner (83) on June 9, 2022 with his wife, Ildiko, and his daughter, Kathy, by his side. The second youngest of eleven children, George was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, and seven sisters.

Born in Budapest Hungary, George came to Canada in 1961 to pursue his entrepreneurial goals and to build a future. He met his bride Ildiko in Toronto and they married in 1967. Trained as a Tool and Die maker, he worked hard and built a successful business. He loved inventions, and even invented a few things of his own.

George had an insatiable curiosity that drove his many passions. He loved to travel to where the sun was always shining, going to wine tastings, appreciating wine, meeting people, learning from others, and sharing his knowledge. George will be fondly remembered as a man with a zest for life who made friends everywhere he went.

His contagious smile will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of George's life will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7, Woodbridge, on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Please join the family for a memorial gathering from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 3 o'clock.
