It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of George on August 25, 2022.

Cherished husband of Eileen – who was the light of his life and constant companion.

Born in Scotland in 1929, he was the brother of Ken and Roy, both deceased, brother-in-law of Elizabeth, beloved uncle of Bryan, Callum, Roddy and Kevin Mackenzie, John and Tim Raasch, Laurie Paavola, Pamela Hensley, and Carolyn Trottier, great uncle of Caelan Mackenzie.

After serving in the Royal Air Force, he immigrated to Canada and worked for Dineen Construction until his retirement. His position of Supervisor placed him in a role of mentor and companion to his many crews. George was a wise and confident friend to many. He was an avid boater, traveler, lawn bowler, tennis player and gardener – all of which he shared with Eileen.

He was an active member of Westway United Church for many years. In lieu of flowers, and as an expression of sympathy, donations to Westway United Church would be appreciated.

The service will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, on Friday, Sept. 2 at 1 pm.
