George Kiddell

July 21,1933 – July 31, 2013
Passed away peacefully at his home on July 31st, 2013.
George was born in Blackheath, England, and attended school in Felsted. He then moved to India where he was raised.
When George came to Canada, he joined the business sector where he worked at Greenshields Inc. as manager and research analyst. He went on to work for The Royal Trust Company as Senior Investment Office, followed by Vice-President and Director at C.J. Hodgson and Co. He then moved to Standard Life as Portfolio Manager, Vice President, and Director.
In 1981, George and his partners Leith Brock, Ken Done, Neil Jones, Ron Kaulbach, and Terry Walsh formed Gryphon Investment Counsel where he was the President, Chairman and Managing Partner. He still enjoyed showing up for work every day.
George also enjoyed serving on the board of Bellwood Health Services, along with being a member of The Toronto Club.
George is predeceased by his first wife Shonaid (nee Grant). He leaves behind his children Charles, (Montreal), Simon, and his partner Gregore Querajetta and her son Eduardo, (Ottawa), and Mark and his wife Joy, and their children Jada, and Kaitlyn, (Ottawa).
He is also predeceased by his second wife Barbara (nee Bailey), and is survived by her sons Hugh MacNicol (Patti), Bob MacNicol (Julaine), David MacNicol (Diane), and Scott MacNicol (Sheila). George was also a wonderful grandfather to Meghan, Cameron, Colin, Brian, Robyn, Jamie, Tommy, David, Sarah, Ben, Andrew, Laura, and Alex.

George will be greatly missed by his many friends especially Janya Shebly, Kindree Baylay, Ruth Redelmeier, Debbie and David Mason, John Richardson, Katherine and Annie, and friends in St. Lucia. Also, a special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Integra Care, Rainbow Nursing, Dr. Neil Fleshner and his staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, and his dear friend and family Doctor, Dr. Todd Walters.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Wednesday, August 7th, 2013, at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville, for visitation from 1 - 2 pm and service to follow at 2 pm.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital or the Maharishi Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
