George Emrich
Born on April 2 1936, passed away on July 23, 2023 at the age of 87. Born to Georg and Katharina Emrich in Transylvania, Romania. George immigrated to Canada and moved to Chatham, Ontario in June of 1957 and later moved to Toronto, Ontario. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Greta, daughter Debra (Doug), granddaughters Alexa and Sarah. He is also survived by his sister Maria Hupprich, and sister & brother-in-law Erna and Joseph Bogner. He is predeceased by his half-sister Katie Weber.
He completed his Journeyman's papers to be a cabinetmaker before immigrating to Canada. George owned his own business in the Toronto area until his retirement. In their free time, George and Greta enjoyed traveling, dancing and spending time with their family. George was often found quietly listening and laughing to his animated granddaughters.
George will be remembered for his kind spirit, big smile and thoughtfulness.
