Surrounded by love from his family and friends, George passed away peacefully at Specialty Care Woodhall Park in Brampton in his 81st year. George now joins his cherished wife Lilian (pre-deceased 2001). George was a kind, thoughtful and caring father to: David (Betty), Tracy (Tony) and Gail (Matt). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Kelly, Robin (Tina), Crystal (Peter), David (Esther), Nicole, Danielle, Luke, Charlotte, and Thomas. George will be greatly missed by his siblings: Eric (Jean), David (Maxine) and Dian (Clive). He will also be sadly missed by all of his many treasured nieces and nephews in England and Australia. A special thank you to the kind staff of Woodhall Care Community and another very special thank you to Home Instead Senior Care and home care companion Melissa.
Originally from Aberdeen, Scotland, George came to Canada with his wife Lilian in 1966. After 25 years as a millwright and plumber in the Maintenance and Engineering department of Peel Memorial hospital, George retired in 1999. Following retirement George volunteered for many years at both Peel Memorial and Brampton Civic hospitals. Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. S, Brampton, on Wed. August 5th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. George’s funeral will be held on Thurs. August 6th at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family please join us immediately following the funeral at a reception for George at Branch 15 of the Royal Canadian Legion, 80 Mary St., Brampton.
