Gemma "Emma" Marzo (nee Dell’Orso)

June 15, 1926 – March 17, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and nonna, Gemma, in her 98th year on March 17th, 2025. Gemma was born on June 15th, 1926, in Ofena, L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy to Francesco and Giovanna, and was one of five siblings.

Gemma is now reunited with her husband of 31 years, Biagio. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Clara (Kevin) and Lucy (Jim), and her grandchildren Shane (Autumn), Ryan (Tessa), Leanne (Joe), Randy (Salva).

Gemma loved to garden, cook for her family, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was excellent at sewing, often creating clothing for herself and for her children. She was very strong-willed, and energetic. She will be remembered for her kind and caring demeanor. She spent her life devoted to God and her faith.

Forever loved, always remembered.

In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in Gemma's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Funeral Service to take place in the Ward Funeral Home Chapel (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
