HELESIC, GAYLE ELIZABETH (nee LONG)
April 16, 1940 – September 4, 2014
At William Osler Hospital Brampton Palliative Unit, on Thursday Sept. 4th, 2014 at the age 74. Beloved wife of James “Jim” Helesic. Loving mother of Terri-Ann Helesic and 2nd mom to Joanne (Don). Proud “Gramma Gayle” to Jennifer & Josh and Jordin & Logan along with their mom Marnie. Loving sister to Terry Long (Barbara). Sadly missed by her nephew Jason Long (Letisia) along with relatives & friends, Edith, Carol, Joan, Katie and her “soul” sister Gail. Predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Elizabeth Thompson, and father George Leslie Long. Will be sadly missed by members of Brampton Legion Branch 15 & members of the “James Gang” where she worked for 28 years. Gayle’s ability to make people laugh with her quick witted humor & one liners along with her tell it like it really was honesty, will be missed by many. For those who knew Gayle she will always be remembered for her love of animals, summer beaches, cottages, gardening, amazing cross stitching talents & spending time laughing with friends and family. The family extends their deep appreciation to Dr. Vivian Williams and the Palliative doctors & nurses at the WOHC for their kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held from 3-5 pm on Tuesday September 9, at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton followed by a Memorial Service at 5 pm.
