Evans- Gary Michael
Gary Michael Evans, at the age of 54, passed away suddenly at his home in Cheltenham on Saturday, April 9 2011.
A much loved husband and father, he is survived by his wife Donna of 30 years and will continue forever to be adored by his children Courtney, Caitlin and Garrett. A loving and attentive son to his parents, Doug and Mary; a faithful guardian of his in-laws, Cliff and Peggy Young.
He will be sadly missed by his sister Susan (Greg) and brothers Rick (Carolyn), Brian (Debbie), and sister-in-law Lorrie (Bob), along with nephews Daniel, Nicholas, Brandon, Jordan, Christopher, Corey, Jesse, Wesley and Alex and niece Stephanie.
A husband, father, son and brother loyal, the tears of all reflect a lifetime of fond memories they hold of him.
Gary was a founding partner in the prominent Brampton insurance brokerage, CCV Insurance. His clients will miss his front and center presence: his client first, client always, approach.
The Peel Children’s Safety Village will miss their president who for more than 15 years, volunteered in forging the connections between our children and our educators while providing a safe environment for them to learn about traffic safety.
Born in Atikokan, Ontario, Gary never forgot the North. Taught well by his father, his passion for fishing, hunting and the boys at camp were worth traveling every one of those 1200 miles that it took to get back there.
Raised in Bramalea, the bonds he made with boyhood friends have been life long. His loyalty to them could never be broken. In 1986, he bought a home in the village of Cheltenham. Whether in the garage, on the tractor or at poolside, the pride in his home and in his village shone through.
The family would like to thank the volunteers of the Cheltenham Fire Department for all they did.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” 52 Main Street South, (Hwy 10), Brampton on Wednesday from 2-9p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday April 14th, 2011 at 10:30a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church (940 North Park Drive, Brampton). Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Peel Children’s Safety Village or Hospice Caledon. Please visit the Book of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com
